You said you would sail away
With me into a new dawn
We didn’t know how much
Work we were taking on.
You said we’d hold hands
And watch the water flow past –
But someone had to do the steering
And someone else had to look out.
We sailed into the inlet
For a rest at end of day
It was dark before we found
A mooring place for the night.
