I like my distractions
They keep me sane, open
To possibilities.
I like my down time
It keeps me rooted,
Helps me anchor into moments
That might have passed unnoticed
Softly into eternity.
I like being on the edge
It brings me focus
And the clarity of primary colours.
And then, there are espresso mornings
that compress
all three
In a gorgeously bitter shot.

I like the flow of this poem and how you use the stanzas to describe yourself. Aren’t espresso mornings wonderful!I am here from PWB.

The last stanza is really fantastic. Its unique and bold in its word choices and imagery. Never would have thought of an espresso morning but it describes it perfectly.

i really like this, especially the final stanza, which is blunt yet so expressive, it comes across beautifully.
